I did my web biography assignment on Jonathan Sadler, a 23-year-old Senior Social Work major. Jonathan was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus in 1999. Hydrocephalus is cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds the brain. Hydro-association is a website designed for terminating the challenges of Hydrocephalus. One or two of every 1,000 can be born with it. There is no cure for Hydrocephalus but surgery can help. Jonathan has had two surgeries and the second one was an emergency surgery because the first one was unsuccessful. The doctor place a shunt in. A shunt can last anywhere between 20 minutes to 20 years. His most recent surgery was six months ago. After the first surgery Jonathan had to learn how to walk and talk all over again. Jonathan always tries to be a happy person. After graduation he wants to get a job helping others with the similar diagnoses. His left shakes sometimes and on days it shakes the most he tries not to it. During his years at Slippery Rock University he was awarded a $500 a semester from the OVR (Office of Vocational Rehabilitation). He works at Boozel dining hall at Slippery Rock university. He said that the easiest job for him is working in the dish-room.
Jonathan Sadler working in the dish-room.This is the easiest job but sometimes it frustrates him when it gets busy.
Tuesday's and Thursday's are busy during common hour in the dish-room. Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's 15 minutes before classes start are busy as well. He said the his dad was instrumental in motivating him to be the best person that he can be. His dad's favorite saying was "You got to get back on the horse and ride," his father said.

Jonathan Sadler Biography
Jonathan's 10 year plan.
Jonathan had to use a wheel chair as well. He applied for disability but was denied. He wants more than a minimum wage job. He has another job lined up starting in the summer that will pay him more. He enjoys the workers at Boozel. Some of them try to let him do the easier jobs. He doesn't find it difficult to drive. He uses two hands on the steering wheel. He can get a button put on the steering-wheel to help him drive better. He doesn't want to use it. Sometimes Jonathan will use his right hand to turn on the turn signal. They're days when he will use his left hand but it just seems easier that way. Jonathan has one more year of schooling left then he will look for a job. He feels that is it not the end of the if your are diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. The hardest job at Boozel is when Jonathan has to carry three breakfast sandwiches over to the microwave.
While riding in the car Jon enjoys listening to R & B Hip Hop recording artist Akon. Jon is originally from West Sunbury, Pa where he attended Moniteau Junior-Senior high school. He enjoys watching TV shows like Rocko's Modern Life, Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad and the Simpsons. He also enjoys reading the Bible and Harry Potter books.
