The
Jacksonville Jaguars should sign quarterback Tim Tebow to a 2 year deal to see how things will work out for both of them. If next year he improves their season then a restructured contract can happen. I will point out several reasons why it would benefit the Jaguar organization. On October 21,2013 the USA today paper stated that the maximum capacity in the Jaguar stadium is 67,164 and that only 59,550 were utilized in paid attendance which left 7,214 unused. Florida is Tebow's home territory and the fans would LOVE it if they signed Tebow. It would definitely generate a lot of money for the organization. His jersey would definitely sell like pancakes at Denny's. Don't believe according to
Forbes on NFLshop.com from April 1, 2012-July 31, 2012 Tebow was 3rd in front of names such as Andrew Luck, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Drew Brees, and Tony Romo who most people would said is more accurate. What some people fail to realize is a quarterback needs help from his receivers as well. The great receivers can adjust well to the ball in the air. When running a route a receiever is taught to look back for the ball after the 1st three steps just incase the quarterback is in trouble and then he can be a hot route. For example when a receiver runs a 10 yard out or in and they round it off instead of making a sharp cut. That gives the Defensive back an extra second or two to step in front of him and intercept the ball. The good corners can do that. It is harder for the DB to intercept the ball when the receiver runs a great route. Tebow could benefit from a Wide Receiver like
Lokey Howell who they could sign for the league minimum for 1 year to try him out.
Remember when Tebow was in Denver and everyone was talking about his faith and how much successful he was when he was there. Just imagine if Tebow's and
Howell's Faith were somehow connected. They would definitely make the playoffs next year and make a run for the superbowl. If you look at Peyton Manning and the weapons he has. The Broncos even brought in an extra weapon in Wes Welker and he also has Eric Decker not to mention Demaryius Thomas who by the way Tim Tebow used to help beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs. Teams with good quarterbacks get them weapons and you can even look at Tom Brady and how he struggled before his tightend came back. During the preseason everyone was talking about who was Brady going to throw to well how would Tim Tebow make the Patriots team if Brady had no one to throw to. That meant that Tebow wouldn't anyone to throw to either. The Patriots had weapons in place but Aaron Hernandez was a setback and Rob Gronkowski was out for part of the season. Even Brees and Wilson have weapons. You can look at how Flacco is struggling due to the departure of Boldin. So Tebow needs some weapons and the tickets will sell like crazy.
Even when Tebow became the 3rd string quarterback for the Patriots during the preseason where a
tweet was made that he would have #5 in during training camp in Foxboro it had 886 retweets and 277 favorites even though we need he still had to make the team and that Brady would still be the starting QB. So the Jaguars will make good money from this deal and even possibly success on the field and not to mention that the fans would be over-excited. The 1st home game would be sold out.
